West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce teamed with Regus Chester on the 10th August to hold another ‘Person Behind the Business’, playing host to over 40 delegates.

Regus Chester provided breakfast pastries, cakes and hot beverages for all in attendance- the coffee was appreciated by many at 8:00am! Guests were then given the chance to network amongst one another before the Q+A with Richard began. ‘Person Behind the Business’ networking format gives delegates the chance to hear more about how other members started and grew their business into what it is today, as well as developing knowledge of their past and the opportunities that led them to start their business.

Regus has a prime site in Chester Business Park. Over 7,500 people work in the popular 175 acre landscaped business environment. A wide range of well respected companies in fields ranging from financial services and pharmaceuticals to packaging, retail, training and overseas property.

Today’s ‘Person Behind The Business’ was Richard Smith from The Wine School of Cheshire, we explored all areas of Richards life, from his childhood, to how he created the business that he has today. Richard began to recount his interesting life, giving delegates an insight into his family life whilst growing up and then progressing into where the idea for The Wine School of Cheshire came from. Richard spoke of his time in some of London’s most highly ranked hotels, as well as tales from some of the many private clients that he deals with on a daily basis. Since starting The Wine School of Cheshire, Richard’s company has moved from strength to strength and continues to grow.

Richard Smith, Wine School of Cheshire said:  ”What a fantastic morning taking part in Person Behind the Business. This was a brilliant opportunity to give fellow members an insight into the history behind wine school and how it all started. There were some brilliant questions from the audience too which made an already superb event even better!”

Speaking in hindsight of the event, Jenny Davidson, Membership Support and Event manager, said: ‘Today’s event was a great chance to hear more about the story behind ‘The Wine School of Cheshire’ and how Richard has progressed through his journey to achieve what he has so far. Thank you to Regus Chester for being so hospitable, the venue and service was fantastic. I would also like to extend a thank you to the members that attended the event, there was many interesting questions asked and some great networking done.’

Thank you to all that attended today’s event, we hoped that you enjoyed it. Our next networking event is our ‘Networking lunch and Charity book donation’ at Chester Racecourse, we hope to see you all there!
